A passion for genre-spanning melody, field recordings, found sound and electronics combined with the utility of guerrilla techniques (encompassing household objects) has spat ZvS face first into the sphere of criticism in the creation of affably sinister sonic sketches and ambionic audio montage.

The debut 12″ EP ‘Interviews & Interludes’ was released on Brighton’s acclaimed Cookshop label in 2008, which garnered support from Rob Da Bank, Stephan Merchant, Tom Robinson, and Huw Stephens.

In 2009 the debut hour mix for Ninja Tune’s inimitable Solid Steel Radio was aired; and the arse-end of 2010 saw the release of debut album ‘(Falling from) The Nutty Tree’ on legendary LA label Mush Records.

2011 saw the first live shows with a European tour, including live/DJ sets and radio sessions, and two showcases at NXNE in Toronto. Tour supports have included Daedelus, Gold Panda, Fujiya & Miyagi, Nosaj Thing.

The debut exclusive live radio session for BBC6 Music’s Tom Robinson was also aired in the summer of 2011.

April 2012 saw the release of ‘(Remixes from) The Nutty Tree’ feat. Tunng, Daedelus, Kirkland (SFA), Grasscut, Fujiya & Miyagi, Yppah…

Remix duty has included The Pictish Trail, James Yorkston, Darwin Deez, Diagrams…

The second full length LP entitled ‘The Bridge Between Life & Death’ is built around field recordings that were taken in Iceland at the end of 2009 and features stunning collaborations and guest appearances by Amiina (Sigur Ros), Sin Fang (Seabear) and Benni Hemm Hemm (MORR).
This was released on the irrepressible Lo Recordings (UK), !K7 (US) and Alter K (FRA) in June 2013.
